Bayern Munich’s head coach, Vincent Kompany, has offered an important update regarding Jamal Musiala after the talented midfielder suffered a leg injury during the team’s FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final loss to Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday.
During that intense contest, Musiala picked up a leg injury after a forceful collision with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The incident was serious enough that Musiala had to be stretchered off the pitch, sparking immediate concern from Bayern’s coaching staff, teammates, and supporters.
“The situation with Jamal was very emotional. We all saw what happened and it didn’t look good,” Kompany stated during his post-match press conference.
“From just watching the images, it looks like an ankle injury of some sort, but I’m not going to make a diagnosis,” Kompany clarified, underscoring that further evaluation by medical professionals would be needed to confirm the precise extent of Musiala’s injury.
