Rhapsody of Realities January 22nd 2025, HIS FAIRNESS AND IMPARTIALITY

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2 Corinthians 5:21). What we just read is so huge; it’s one of the unexplored tablelands in the Christian experience. I would to God every Christian understood what it means for us to be called the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. It’s different from us being made righteous; the Greek word there is “Dikaiosune” and it means equity, the quality of fairness or impartiality. What this means is that we’re God’s proof of His fairness and impartiality. We’re the manifestation of His equity. This is so wonderful! Recall what the Bible says in Ephesians 3:10, “To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God.” It means that God points to us as evidence to all principalities and powers to judge that He is fair; He shows off with us as trophies of His goodness. Hallelujah! Romans 4:26 says, “…To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” What this means is that through the redemption that’s in Christ Jesus, God has proven Himself just, in justifying the sinner. Jesus Christ was delivered to death for our offenses, and raised back to life for our justification. When you study Romans 3:21-26, you’d understand this better. That portion says, “But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” Think about that! God proves Himself to be just, while He justifies the sinner. How can He justify the sinner? Why are we His righteousness? Why are we His proof of His equity? We’ll learn more in our next study. Moment of Prayer and Worship: https://loveworldlyrics.com/moment-of-prayer-playlist/ CONFESSIONI’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, a living proof of God’s fairness, justice and goodness. Thank you Father, for making me the expression of your wisdom to the glory of your Name; I walk in this understanding, showing forth your righteousness and manifesting your equity to the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY|| Romans 3:21-26 NIVBut now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. || || 2 Corinthians 5:21 AMPCFor our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness]. || || Romans 4:24-25But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. || READ ALSO: DAILY AFFIRMATIONS: I function with supernatural strength and abilities today. COEASU Denies Allegations About President’s Visit to Imo College of Education

COEASU refutes allegations that its president criticized the chapter chairman of Benjamin Uwajumogu College of Education during a recent visit, emphasizing peace and unity within the institution. The Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) has debunked recent claims suggesting that its President, Dr. Smart Olugbeko, accused the Chapter Chairman of Benjamin Uwajumogu College of Education, Ihite Uboma, Imo State, of fueling unrest within the institution. In a statement released on Tuesday by Dr. Churchill Okonkwo, COEASU Vice President and South East Zonal Coordinator, the union clarified that Dr. Olugbeko made no such allegations during his recent official visit to the college. Dr. Okonkwo addressed an online report alleging that Dr. Olugbeko had openly criticized Comrade Wilson Amandi, the college’s COEASU chairman, for allegedly instigating disputes. He described the report as “misleading and a misrepresentation of the union president’s reconciliatory mission.” Clarification on the Allegations According to Dr. Okonkwo, the controversial report claimed that the president condemned the chapter chairman and secretary for raising their grievances in the media, branding their concerns as unsubstantiated. However, Dr. Okonkwo dismissed these claims, labeling them as baseless. He explained that Dr. Olugbeko’s visit was a routine engagement aimed at fostering collaboration among union members and promoting the college’s goals in teacher education. The president reportedly emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and unity, discouraging any actions that could jeopardize the institution’s progress, especially given its relatively young age. No Journalists Present at the Meeting Dr. Okonkwo firmly stated that no journalists attended the meeting between COEASU representatives and the college management, rendering the allegations of any criticisms made during the meeting unfounded. “It is shocking that a press release distorted Dr. Olugbeko’s peaceful message,” he remarked, adding that certain individuals might benefit from perpetuating such conflicts. Dr. Okonkwo also challenged the journalist responsible for the misleading publication to provide evidence of their presence at the meeting. He emphasized that the president’s entourage consisted only of union officials, including himself and Assoc. Prof. Jovita Ogu, Zonal Secretary and Chairman of the Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education Academic Staff Union. Commitment to Harmony in Education In his concluding remarks, Dr. Okonkwo urged the public to disregard the false claims and instead focus on building peace and stability within higher education institutions. “COEASU remains dedicated to fostering harmony, ensuring the welfare of its members, and advancing the progress of teacher education in Nigeria,” he affirmed. Trump Revokes Ban on Immigration Arrests at Sensitive Locations

The Trump administration has reversed previous restrictions, granting U.S. immigration and border officials the authority to arrest undocumented individuals at “sensitive” locations. These include places such as schools, churches, and hospitals. This policy change overturns regulations that have been in place since 2011, which prohibited such actions to ensure sensitive areas remained safe havens for all individuals, regardless of immigration status. Under the Biden administration, these restrictions were further tightened to protect vulnerable groups. However, the Department of Homeland Security, in defense of the new directive, stated, “Criminals will no longer be able to hide in America’s schools and churches to avoid arrest. The Trump Administration trusts law enforcement to use common sense in their duties.” In addition to this reversal, another directive reinstates the ability for U.S. authorities to expedite the deportation of undocumented individuals who cannot prove they have resided in the country for over two years. These policy changes signal a significant shift in the approach to immigration enforcement, prioritizing stricter controls and enforcement measures in sensitive areas. Crumbling Opposition: Political Defections Spark Debate

Explore the growing trend of political defections in Nigeria, its impact on democracy, and expert insights on addressing this divisive issue. The political landscape in Nigeria continues to witness upheaval as opposition parties grapple with a wave of defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Since the conclusion of the 2023 general elections, numerous elected representatives from opposition parties have shifted allegiance, sparking concerns about the health of the nation’s democracy. Stakeholders remain divided on the reasons behind this trend. Some attribute it to selfish interests and the abandonment of party ideology, while others justify defections as a response to political marginalization or the pursuit of personal aspirations. A Surge in Defections Following the 2023 elections, opposition parties like the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have faced significant losses. The LP, hailed as the Third Force during the elections, has lost at least 18 lawmakers to the APC. Similarly, the PDP has seen defections from senators, House of Representatives members, and 27 Rivers State Assembly members. This trend is expected to intensify before the 2027 elections. Judiciary’s Role in Addressing Defections Former Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor, Senator Chris Ekpenyong, emphasized the judiciary’s responsibility in curbing defections. He criticized the failure to uphold constitutional provisions that prohibit elected officials from changing parties post-election. “The judiciary must strictly interpret the constitution to deter defections. Allowing such actions tilts the political system towards a one-party state, undermining democracy,” he said. The Crisis in Political Integrity Elder Wole Oyelese, a PDP chieftain, lamented the erosion of political values. He noted that defections often stem from a desire for power and financial benefits, which compromise democratic principles. “When politicians prioritize personal gain over ethical leadership, they betray their constituents and weaken democracy,” Oyelese added. Labour Party Alleges Misuse of State Resources Labour Party spokesperson, Obiora Ifoh, accused the ruling APC of leveraging state resources to lure opposition members. He highlighted the need for stricter laws and enforcement mechanisms to protect opposition parties from such tactics. “Strengthening laws and enforcing accountability are vital to safeguarding democratic principles,” Ifoh asserted. Defections as a Political Strategy Contrarily, Edo APC chieftain Hon. Charles Idahosa defended defections, arguing that politics is driven by interest and circumstances. “If a party no longer aligns with your values, moving to another party is a valid choice. Politics is a dynamic field with no permanent friends or enemies,” Idahosa explained. Challenges to Nigeria’s Multi-Party Democracy Peter Ameh, National Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), described defections as a threat to Nigeria’s multi-party system. He warned that the continuous weakening of opposition parties diminishes their ability to hold the ruling party accountable. “The trend of defecting politicians undermines democracy and consolidates power in the ruling party,” Ameh cautioned. Judiciary and Legislative Reforms Needed Experts like Surv. Furoebi Akene called for judicial reforms to address loopholes that enable defections. Akene emphasized that without credible judicial processes, the cycle of defections will persist, eroding trust in democratic institutions. APC’s Growing Influence Chief Ominimini Obiuwebwi, an APC chieftain, attributed the wave of defections to the party’s perceived dominance and President Bola Tinubu’s inclusive leadership style. “Politicians are joining APC because they see brighter prospects and a leader who embraces all,” Obiuwebwi stated. Reinforcing Party Loyalty Rivers State APC Chairman, Chief Emeka Bekee, urged politicians to prioritize party loyalty over personal interests. “Defections often stem from selfish motives. Politicians must remain steadfast in their parties to build a robust democratic system,” Bekee advised. ConclusionPolitical defections remain a divisive issue in Nigeria, highlighting the need for stronger laws, judicial reforms, and a renewed commitment to party ideologies. While some view defections as a strategic move, others see them as a threat to democratic stability. The future of Nigeria’s multi-party democracy depends on addressing these challenges and fostering accountability among political leaders. Freeze Warming – The Paradox of Climate Change

Discover the paradox of freeze warming—how global warming contributes to extreme cold weather. Learn about its causes, impacts, and what we can do to combat climate change. Imagine stepping outside on a winter morning and feeling a colder chill than you’ve felt in years. The irony? Global warming could be behind it. This phenomenon, often called “freeze warming,” describes the paradoxical result of climate change causing extreme cold spells. Sounds counterintuitive, right? Let’s break it down and explore how our warming planet contributes to icy extremes. What is Freeze Warming?Freeze warming refers to the occurrence of unusually cold weather events or extreme winter storms triggered by the warming of the planet. While global warming suggests an overall rise in Earth’s temperatures, it doesn’t mean every place will get hotter uniformly. In fact, disruptions in weather patterns due to climate change can lead to harsher winters in certain regions. The culprit? A destabilized polar vortex. The Role of the Polar VortexThe polar vortex is a large area of low-pressure, frigid air that swirls around the poles. Typically, this vortex remains stable, keeping the Arctic’s icy air confined. However, as global temperatures rise, Arctic ice melts, and heat disrupts the balance. This disruption weakens the polar vortex, causing it to wobble. As a result, frigid air that should remain locked in the Arctic spills southward, bringing bone-chilling temperatures to places like North America, Europe, and parts of Asia. Why Freeze Warming Matters How Does Freeze Warming Connect to the Bigger Picture?Climate change doesn’t just heat things up—it disrupts weather patterns globally. The Arctic warms faster than other parts of the planet (a phenomenon known as Arctic amplification), setting off a chain reaction that influences weather far beyond the poles. Here’s the kicker: even as winters might feel colder in some areas, overall global temperatures continue to climb. Summers are getting hotter, glaciers are melting, and sea levels are rising. What Can We Do About It?While freeze warming is complex, solutions begin with addressing the root cause: greenhouse gas emissions. Here’s how you can contribute: The TakeawayFreeze warming is a stark reminder of how interconnected our planet’s systems are. It’s not just about “hotter summers” or “melting glaciers.” Climate change reshapes our entire weather system, creating extremes on both ends of the thermometer. As we experience these chilling effects, let’s use them as a wake-up call. Our actions today can help stabilize the future, ensuring a healthier planet for generations to come. Call-to-Action (CTA):What’s your take on freeze warming? Share your thoughts in the comments and let’s start a conversation about how we can address climate change together!
