Bill Gates Reflects on Divorce from Melinda: “My Biggest Regret”

Microsoft co-founder, Bill Gates, recently opened up about his divorce from Melinda Gates, describing it as the “biggest mistake” of his life. In an interview with The Times, the 69-year-old billionaire shared his personal struggles with the separation and the lessons he has learned in its aftermath. A Challenging Journey to Acceptance Bill and Melinda Gates announced their split in May 2021, ending 27 years of marriage. By August of the same year, their divorce was finalized, marking the end of a long chapter filled with shared memories and accomplishments. Reflecting on the emotional toll of their separation, Gates said, “It was an incredibly difficult time for both of us. However, I feel more cheerful now.” Despite the challenges, he acknowledged the unique bond they shared, adding, “There’s something extraordinary about spending your entire adult life with one person. The shared memories, the depth of what you’ve accomplished together, and having children—it’s all quite special.” The Foundations of Their Relationship Bill and Melinda’s story began in 1987 when Melinda joined Microsoft. Over the years, their partnership extended beyond their personal lives to their professional endeavors, including the co-founding of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Bill credited much of his success to the support he received from Melinda, saying, “When we met, I was already fairly successful, but my career soared during our time together. She stood by me through it all.” He further revealed that he aspired to emulate his parents’ long-lasting 45-year marriage, though he admitted their dynamic was quite different. “I spent more time with the kids than my dad did, but the ratio was still 10:1, with Melinda doing most of the parenting. We had a wonderful time.” A Turning Point and Life After Divorce The divorce marked a significant turning point for both Bill and Melinda. Melinda’s decision to step away from the foundation they built together was especially tough for Bill to process. “When we divorced, it was incredibly difficult. Then she chose to step away from the foundation, which I found disheartening,” he revealed. Describing the split as one of his greatest personal failings, Gates admitted, “It has to be at the top of the list. There are others, but none that compare. The divorce was miserable for both Melinda and me for at least two years.” Co-Parenting with Grace Despite their separation, Bill and Melinda have worked to maintain a healthy, amicable relationship. Together, they co-parent their three children—Jennifer, Rory, and Phoebe—all of whom are now adults. Their shared commitment to family remains a central pillar in their lives. Conclusion While Bill Gates continues to reflect on his regrets and lessons from the past, his story serves as a reminder of the complexities of relationships, the challenges of letting go, and the importance of moving forward with grace and resilience. Minna, Nigeria – A devastating explosion rocked Sabon Pegi village in the Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State on Sunday, claiming the lives of 25 individuals and leaving several others injured. This tragedy follows just days after a fuel tanker explosion along the Dikko-Maje-Minna road. The blast occurred at a mining site, with reports indicating that improper storage of explosive devices used for mining activities may have triggered the disaster. Rescue efforts are ongoing as locals search for missing persons, including women and children, believed to be buried under the rubble. Casualties and Damages In addition to the fatalities, several people sustained severe injuries and have been rushed to hospitals in New Bussa for treatment. Numerous homes and shops in the village were reduced to debris, leaving residents devastated and homeless. Ahmed, a local resident, described the situation: “The explosion happened early in the morning just as miners were starting work. Villagers are terrified to approach the site, fearing more explosives could detonate.” The explosion’s impact extended to 12 residential houses, with military personnel cordoning off the area for safety. Possible Cause of the Explosion According to local sources, the explosion may have been caused by dynamites improperly stored in a residential house. A man identified as Yushau, who reportedly kept the explosives in his uncle’s home while using the location as a shop, is currently at large. Superintendent of Police Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the cause: “Dynamites stored in a densely populated area detonated, resulting in the tragic deaths and injuries. Efforts are underway to track down the suspect, Yushau.” Authorities, including the Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, have launched a full investigation into the incident. Community on Edge Residents of Sabon Pegi remain fearful of further explosions, particularly since terrorist activities have been previously reported in the area. The use of explosive devices for mining, combined with unsafe handling, raises concerns about safety regulations in the region. Be Empowered by the Holy Spirit: Fear No Enemy

By His Eminence, Apostle Solomon Moses Mustapha (Babasebioba) Introduction: Living Fearlessly in the Power of the Holy Spirit Apostle Solomon Moses Mustapha, fondly known as Babasebioba, inspires believers to live a life of fearlessness through the power of the Holy Spirit. By being “drunk in the Holy Spirit,” believers are shielded by the blood of Jesus—the name above every other name—and remain untouchable in the camp of their enemies. Supernatural Power Within You Preaching from Acts 28:1-6, Apostle Babasebioba highlighted the story of Apostle Paul’s shipwreck on the island of Malta. Despite being bitten by a venomous viper, Paul was unharmed, demonstrating the supernatural power that God grants His people. Acts 28:5-6 says:“But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects. They were expecting him to swell up or suddenly fall down dead, but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and began to say that he was a god.” This power, Apostle Babasebioba stressed, resides in every believer filled with the Holy Spirit. It grants immunity against the plans of the enemy, ensuring that God’s children are not intimidated by ordinary circumstances. Breaking the Chains of Spiritual Attacks The Apostle shared that enemies often orchestrate spiritual attacks, such as dreams where one’s glory is consumed. Referencing Psalms 107:20, he reminded believers:“He sent his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Babasebioba prayed that any spiritual attacks tormenting believers would be nullified in Jesus’ name. He emphasized that salvation and deliverance from such schemes are available through the power of God. Recognizing and Overcoming Household Enemies Quoting Matthew 10:36, Apostle Babasebioba said:“And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.” He explained that many battles Christians face stem from close relationships. However, with the Holy Spirit, believers gain authority over these challenges. He urged believers to be filled with the Spirit and walk boldly in their divine heritage. Signs and Wonders: Your Birthright as a Believer According to Mark 16:17-18, signs and wonders are the believer’s heritage:“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Apostle Babasebioba emphasized that no weapon formed against believers would prosper because they are covered by the blood of Jesus. Victory Over Challenges Using the analogy of Paul’s shipwreck and snake bite, Apostle Babasebioba encouraged believers to remain steadfast in faith during challenges. He reassured them that temporary trials often precede victory, quoting Psalms 108:13:“With your help, we will win the battle; you will walk all over our enemies.” He urged believers not to be swayed by public opinion but to hold firmly to God’s word, which is the ultimate truth. Special Prophetic Prayer and Testimonies Babasebioba prayed for all listeners: Believers were encouraged to partake in the “Holy Water” available at Seed of Christ Golden Church branches worldwide for miraculous testimonies. Conclusion: Walk Boldly in Authority In closing, Apostle Babasebioba urged believers to remain full of the Holy Spirit and trust in God’s promises. He reminded them that their identity in Christ makes them immune to the attacks of the enemy and victorious in every battle. Omoyele Sowore: “I Consult Herbalists, Not Google, for Facts”

“Omoyele Sowore, AAC presidential candidate, shares why he trusts herbalists over Google for facts and debunks dual citizenship rumors. Learn more about his cultural perspective.” Omoyele Sowore Reveals Why He Trusts Herbalists Over Google Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has shared an intriguing perspective on how he verifies information. According to him, he prefers consulting traditional herbalists instead of relying on search engines like Google. Sowore made this revelation during his appearance on a recent episode of The Curiosity Made Me Ask show, hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie. Debunking Dual Citizenship Claims During the conversation, Bae U asked Sowore a pointed question about his leadership and its implications: Bae U: “Do you think it’s fair to lead protests with people who don’t have dual citizenship like you do? Unlike you, they cannot leave for another country if things go wrong.” In response, Sowore clarified the misinformation surrounding his citizenship: Sowore: “Dual citizenship means being a citizen of another country alongside Nigeria. I’m only Nigerian by birth, and that’s the only passport I hold. It seems your research needs updating, just as I need new campaign managers. You didn’t do your homework.” Although Bae U admitted she was aware of his single citizenship, she pointed out that many people believe otherwise due to Google search results. Why Sowore Trusts Herbalists Over Google When asked to clarify, Sowore humorously dismissed Google’s reliability and explained his preference for cultural traditions: Sowore: “Why are you relying on Google? I don’t use Google. For serious matters, I consult herbalists. You probably saw me with one in court in Abuja. This practice reflects our culture. What you now call Google is what Yorubas refer to as Orunmila, the oracle of wisdom. It offers more reliable guidance than Google ever could.” Returning to Cultural Roots Sowore’s comments sparked curiosity about the intersection of technology and traditional African practices. He emphasized the importance of embracing cultural heritage and finding value in indigenous wisdom, which often serves as a reliable compass for life’s challenges. ConclusionOmoyele Sowore’s bold statement about consulting herbalists over Google highlights his commitment to cultural traditions and his willingness to challenge modern conventions. While his stance has sparked conversations, it also raises questions about the balance between technology and indigenous knowledge in addressing modern-day issues. Rhapsody of Realities January 26th 2025, WE EFFECT CHANGES WHEN WE PRAY

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working] (James 5:16 AMPC). Some people see prayer as the recourse of the weak-minded or of those who are helpless and hopeless. But that’s an outright misconception. When you understand prayer and the reason we pray, you’d realize that we never pray from a position of weakness or disadvantage; we don’t merely pray in hope. We pray to effect changes. Prayer in the Kingdom of God goes far beyond hope, even though hope is a great virtue. In fact, the very act of prayer arises from hope. But when you begin to pray, you’re no longer simply demonstrating hope—you’re now effecting changes. God never wants us to be in a hopeless situation where we feel hamstrung and hedged in. We can do anything and change anything in His Name in the place of prayer. When you study the Scriptures, you’d discover that each time God’s people prayed, miracles were wrought, adversities were turned into testimonies. It’s the same in our day; our prayers are effective. So, it makes no difference what the case is; pray! The Bible says the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much; it makes tremendous power available, dynamic in its working. Pray according to the Word of God and exercise your authority and dominion in Christ. Use the Name of Jesus and change that seemingly hopeless situation. Whether you’re praying for yourself, a loved one, your nation, the salvation of souls, or the furtherance of the Gospel; pray with confidence, knowing that you have a right to be heard by God. He told us to pray because He planned to answer. Hallelujah! Never see prayer as a last resort or something we do because we’re out of wits or options; no! When we pray, we’re taking action. It’s our means of influencing situations and releasing the power of God to effect changes and establish God’s will in the earth. Hallelujah! Moment of Meditation:  PRAYER Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege and power of prayer. My prayers are effectual, bringing about changes in my life and the lives of others as I exercise my spiritual authority over every situation and effect the will of the Father in my life, that of my loved ones, and in the nations of the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. The Neglect of Nigeria’s National Library: A National Disgrace

Discover how the neglect of the National Library of Nigeria reflects a broader disregard for education. Explore the importance of libraries in shaping civilizations and why the NLN’s completion is crucial for Nigeria’s progress. In many Nigerian cultures, expressions like asaaruame, tufiakwa, olorunmaje, and allah kiyaye represent outright rejection of unacceptable behaviors. These phrases vividly encapsulate the neglect of the National Library of Nigeria (NLN) by the Nigerian state—a monumental disregard for education and intellectual advancement. This critique is not penned from a librarian’s perspective but as a call to awaken Nigeria to its failing commitment to education, exemplified by the NLN, a symbol of how seriously a nation values knowledge. A Library in Limbo: Decades of Neglect The NLN, conceived over 18 years ago, remains incomplete—a stagnation akin to a pregnancy exceeding its term without delivery, demanding urgent intervention. Despite significant allocations, such as TETFund’s N15 billion in 2022, the structure in Abuja’s Central Business District resembles an ancient relic rather than a beacon of knowledge. Historical Context: Libraries as Pillars of Civilizations Libraries have been fundamental to the progress of civilizations. The world’s oldest known library, Ashurbanipal, dates back to the 7th century BC, signifying the timeless value of information preservation. Africa boasts its legacy too, with the Al-Qarawiyyin Library in Morocco, founded in 859 AD by a Muslim woman, Fatima El-Fihri. These institutions serve as both cultural treasures and economic hubs, attracting global attention and revenue. In stark contrast, Nigeria lacks functional monuments. The National Stadium lies in disrepair, and the National Theatre faces uncertain status. The NLN could be a symbol of pride, yet it mirrors the decay of Miss Havisham in Dickens’ Great Expectations—a ruined bride abandoned in her prime. Global Exemplars: Libraries Beyond Books Modern libraries transcend traditional roles. Institutions like the Library of Congress in the U.S., the British Library, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Egypt are hubs for education, tourism, and innovation. Even universities globally boast richer collections than Nigeria’s national repository. Libraries today are gateways to intellectual freedom, social progress, and economic growth. A Call to Action The NLN was envisioned as a state-of-the-art facility with 11 floors, including spaces for bookstores, printing presses, clinics, and more. Its abandonment reflects a deeper national apathy toward education. As the 2025 budget looms, it is imperative for the Nigerian government to prioritize this project, ensuring its completion and functionality. The Value of Libraries Libraries are more than buildings; they are catalysts for lifelong learning, access to global information, and personal growth. In this digital age, they offer e-books, audiobooks, and online resources that empower societies. Yet, Nigeria’s failure to complete the NLN is an embarrassment—a stain on its commitment to education. This piece adds to the many appeals for urgent action. The future of our nation’s intellectual and cultural legacy depends on it. Title: Rumbling in the PFN: Why Archbishop Wale Oke’s Reelection Hangs in the Balance

Discover the growing leadership crisis in the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) under Archbishop Wale Oke and why his reelection may be at risk in February 2025. The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), a prominent body representing millions of Pentecostal Christians in Nigeria, is witnessing growing discontent within its ranks. Archbishop Wale Oke, the current National President, faces accusations of underperformance from senior leaders, jeopardizing his chances of reelection in February 2025. This blog explores the rising tensions within the PFN, the concerns raised by stakeholders, and the potential implications for its future. Leadership Discontent: The Core Issues Archbishop Wale Oke, elected as PFN President in 2023 for a two-year term, is under fire for allegedly failing to deliver on promises. Critics argue that the vibrancy and influence of the PFN, once prominent under the leadership of figures like Archbishop Benson Idahosa, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, and Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, have diminished during his tenure. Senior leaders have openly expressed their dissatisfaction, including Mama Margaret Idahosa, the Archbishop of the Church of God Mission. At a recent event celebrating Bishop David Oyedepo’s 70th birthday, she publicly accused Oke of not fulfilling a promise made to her, adding that while she had forgiven him, the disappointment remains a significant concern among PFN stakeholders. Why the Discontent? Senior Leaders Speak Out Many senior PFN members share Mama Idahosa’s sentiments, accusing Oke’s administration of failing to live up to its promises. One leader remarked: “When Bishop Oke assumed leadership, the PFN was vibrant. He assured us of continuity, but instead, everything has gone into voicemail. How many media appearances or statements have we seen from PFN leadership in the last two years?” These frustrations have sparked growing agitation for new leadership to restore the PFN’s former glory. What Lies Ahead for the PFN? As the February 2025 elections draw near, it remains uncertain whether Archbishop Oke will secure a second term. While there is no clear consensus on who might challenge him, the call for change is growing louder. The PFN’s role as the largest Christian body in Nigeria, representing approximately 60% of Christians nationwide, cannot be overstated. Its vibrancy and leadership are crucial not just for its members but also for Nigeria’s broader socio-political landscape. Conclusion The rumblings within the PFN signal a critical juncture for the Fellowship. With senior leaders openly criticizing the current administration and advocating for change, the February 2025 elections will determine whether Archbishop Wale Oke continues or a new chapter begins. The PFN must address these internal challenges swiftly to restore its influence and ensure it remains a vital force in Nigeria’s religious and social spheres.
