Deputy Chief Whip Refutes Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Allegation Against Akpabio

The Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, has strongly denied the sexual harassment allegations made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Allegation Against Akpabio Senator Natasha, representing Kogi Central, recently accused Senate President Akpabio of making inappropriate advances towards her. She claimed that during a visit to Akpabio’s residence in Ikot-Ekpene to celebrate his birthday in December 2023, he allegedly requested an intimate relationship while showing her around his home. Appearing on Arise TV’s The Morning Show on February 28, 2025, Natasha stated that the Senate President repeated the request when she visited his office to discuss her motion regarding Ajaokuta Steel Company. Senator Nwaebonyi Dismisses Harassment Claim However, Senator Nwaebonyi has dismissed the claim, asserting that Akpabio never harassed or even came close to Senator Natasha during the birthday event. Speaking on Arise TV on March 3, 2025, Nwaebonyi stated that he was present at the celebration and witnessed the entire event. “On the issue of sexual harassment as alleged by Senator Natasha, I was an eyewitness, and I have narrated the real events on social media. On December 8, 2023, I was among the Senators who attended the birthday celebration of the Senate President,” he said. He further detailed that he traveled in the same vehicle with Senator Natasha and her husband to the event, attending various activities with Akpabio within Uyo before proceeding to Ikot-Ekpene. Natasha Was Never Alone With Akpabio – Nwaebonyi Nwaebonyi emphasized that Natasha never accompanied her colleagues on a tour of Akpabio’s residence, as she stayed back in the sitting area with her husband. “I must state clearly that Senator Natasha never joined us when the Senate President was showing us around. She was in the parlour with her husband, while Akpabio took us through different sections of his home, including a chapel where Catholic senators joined in a Holy Mass,” he added. He firmly refuted Natasha’s claim that Akpabio invited her to “have a good time” at his house, stating, “There was never a time the Senate President touched Senator Natasha or made any such comment. She knows that very well.” Motive Behind Natasha’s Allegation According to Nwaebonyi, Senator Natasha’s claim stemmed from her dissatisfaction with a recent decision to relocate her seat in the Senate and make changes to her committee assignment. “It is shocking and unfortunate for a Senator to fabricate such a serious allegation simply because of a seat reassignment or committee change,” he remarked. When asked about the Senate’s response to the matter, Nwaebonyi clarified that the Senate would not act on unverified accusations. “The Senate cannot take action based on hearsay. Senator Natasha has never officially presented any issue regarding this matter,” he concluded. Conclusion The allegation made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against Senate President Godswill Akpabio remains unproven, with key witnesses denying any inappropriate conduct. As the controversy continues, it remains to be seen whether further evidence will emerge or if the matter will be pursued in any formal capacity. Rivers Assembly Faction Gives Fubara 48-Hour Ultimatum to Present 2025 Budget

The Martin Amaewhule-led faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, demanding that he formally present the 2025 appropriation bill. The directive was given during the group’s plenary session on Monday, further intensifying the state’s political crisis. Rivers State Political Rift Deepens The ongoing power struggle in Rivers State continues to escalate, as the assembly remains sharply divided. The faction led by Amaewhule is aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, while the opposing group, led by Victor Oko-Jumbo, remains loyal to Governor Fubara. In January 2025, Fubara had already signed the 2025 budget into law after it was approved by the Oko-Jumbo-led faction. However, the Amaewhule-led lawmakers insist that the governor must formally present the bill before them, underscoring the deepening tensions between the two rival camps. Implications of the Budget Presentation Demand The demand for Fubara’s compliance highlights the broader political battle within Rivers State’s legislature. The confrontation between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Wike, has further fueled uncertainty regarding governance and legislative authority in the state. According to a Vanguard report, Governor Fubara also announced that the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) will conduct fresh elections for local government councils. This follows the Supreme Court’s rulings on Rivers State’s prolonged political crisis. Governor Fubara’s Response to Supreme Court Ruling In a statewide broadcast on Sunday, Governor Fubara acknowledged the Supreme Court’s decision while expressing his administration’s disagreement with the ruling. However, he emphasized his commitment to upholding the rule of law. He confirmed that his government would study and implement the judgment once the certified true copies are obtained, expected by Friday, March 7, 2025. As a temporary measure, Fubara directed the Heads of Local Government Administration to assume control of the 23 LGAs, pending fresh elections. Additionally, he ordered outgoing local government chairmen to hand over power by Monday, March 3, 2025. “Given the outlawing of caretaker arrangements in the local government system, I hereby direct the Heads of Local Government Administration to immediately take over the administration of the 23 local government councils pending the conduct of fresh elections by RSIEC,” Fubara stated. Rhapsody of Realities March 3rd 2025, PRIORITIZE CHURCH ATTENDANCE

Pastor Chris Oyahkilome DSc DSc DD Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching (Hebrews 10:25). One of the things you must become more conscious of and take very seriously as we anticipate the Lord’s soon return is what the Bible says in Hebrews 10:25 (NIV), “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” If you’ve been found wanting in this aspect, not taking church attendance very seriously, you need to change and make it a priority. Be regular with your church attendance, because in the house of God, you’ll learn the Word of God and be established in the Faith. This isn’t optional but a clear instruction for every child of God. Today, there’s so much information competing for your attention. This is one more reason why you must prioritize church attendance. Don’t assume you’ll know it by merely thinking about it. The Scriptures have been given to educate, inform, and culture us in the things of God. The Lord Jesus said, “Search the Scriptures…” (John 5:39) and Paul admonished, “Study the Word” (2 Timothy 2:15). What better way to learn and share the Scriptures than with other Christians in Church! In the Old Testament, God commanded the children of Israel to gather at appointed times. In the New Testament, the principle remains; you must present yourself in the house of God. It’s not about hopping from one church to another every Sunday; rather, be committed and actively participate in the activities in your church family. Get introduced to the leaders of the church and make yourself known. Identify with the family of God. The love you have for other Christians is a testimony in your spirit that you’ve passed from death to life as 1 John 3:14 says,“We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.” Present yourself in the house of God and make yourself available for the Spirit of God to minister to you through the Word. The Bible describes the church as the pillar and ground of truth, the custodian of God’s revelation. So, prioritize church attendance and let the Word of God transform your life from glory to glory. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the privilege of belonging to your family. I commit myself to learning and living by your Word, presenting and making myself a committed member of a church family, and demonstrating your love to others. Your Word cultures me, and I walk in its light daily, bearing fruit that glorifies you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
