The example of Moses in our theme scripture is what God expects of us. He wants us to be identified with Him and esteem our calling in Him much more than the wealth, fame and comfort that the world could offer.Your union with Christ is the greatest thing; it’s far greater than anything money can acquire. That’s why it’s important that you know who Christ is in your heart and believe in Him with your spirit. The knowledge of who you are in Him and your glorious heritage in Him will inspire in you an extraordinary boldness and confidence such that the whole world will mean nothing to you. Pleasing Him in all things, and fulfilling His destiny for your life, becomes all that you care about. Recall the Spirit’s prayer through Paul for the Christians at Colossae: “For this reason…We continually ask God…that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way…” (Colossians 1:9-10 NIV). Moses didn’t live in Jesus’ day, but he had a revelation of his calling and identity with the saviour, because when you identify with Him, you become a saviour. And that’s what Moses became. The Bible says through him, God delivered (saved) the children of Israel from Egypt. Going to confront Pharaoh to let God’s people go was at the risk of his life but he esteemed that assignment beyond any resultant peril. He was dauntless, forsaking Egypt—the world—and all it represented. Let nothing matter or mean more to you than living for Christ. The Bible says, “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again” (2 Corinthians 5:15). Live to please Him. Remember, you’re a saviour from Zion; you were saved to save others. Identify with Him in His passion for soul winning. Esteem His call upon your life—the call to win souls and lead men into salvation—more than the treasures of this world. The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has encouraged local manufacturers to actively explore the export potential of their products by seeking essential market information and following proper procedures. Hadiza Kashiat, Head of Product and Marketing Department at NEPC’s Ogun State office, delivered this message during a Strategic Focus Group meeting organized by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The meeting, themed “Made in Nigeria for Everyone”, focused on challenges and solutions for Nigeria’s manufacturing sector. Challenges Facing Nigerian Manufacturers in Exporting Goods Kashiat emphasized that one of the significant barriers to export success for Nigerian manufacturers is the lack of awareness and adherence to export market procedures. She noted that while NEPC provides valuable resources, many business owners fail to take advantage of them. “Many manufacturers do not actively seek the necessary information for exporting their products. Even when we distribute publications with essential guidelines, most Nigerians do not read them. Instead of just complaining, we must utilize the available information,” she stated. The Need to Support Made-in-Nigeria Products The NEPC official also urged Nigerians to shift their perception of locally made products, highlighting their superior quality compared to some imported alternatives. She pointed out that rejecting locally produced goods hinders economic growth. “As Nigerians, we need to rethink our perception. Many made-in-Nigeria products are durable and of high quality. Some of our products are exported and rebranded abroad before being resold at higher prices. For example, Nigerian lubricant is among the best in the world. Additionally, Malaysia still imports Nigerian palm oil. If we continue to overlook our own products, how can we grow our economy?” she questioned. NASENI’s Commitment to Strengthening Local Manufacturing Speaking at the event, NASENI’s team leader, Mr. Babajide Soyya, stressed that low demand for Nigerian-made products not only affects the economy but also contributes to rising unemployment. He explained that by importing foreign goods, Nigerians indirectly export job opportunities to other countries. To combat this, NASENI is working closely with key industry players to promote local production. Without ongoing support, the current gains might be short-lived, potentially leading to another increase in exchange rates. Exceeding this quota could trigger a backlash, leading to lower crude oil prices. The global demand for crude is also unstable, and long-term trends indicate a shift away from fossil fuels. This places Nigeria in a precarious position, as the country still heavily depends on oil revenue for economic survival. Agriculture: High Hopes but Traditional Methods Persist The Federal Government and some state governments have increased agricultural investments, yet progress remains slow due to outdated practices. The arrival of Belarusian tractors was expected to boost mechanized farming, but their numbers are insufficient to create meaningful impact.
