Rhapsody of Realities March 27th 2025, THE FAITH-EXAMPLES OF JOSHUA AND CALEB

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak (2 Corinthians 4:13). Numbers 13-14 recounts the story of the twelve spies sent by Moses to scout the land of Canaan, the Promised Land. They spent forty days exploring the land and brought back evidence of its abundance, including a large cluster of grapes. However, while Caleb and Joshua encouraged the Israelites to trust God and take possession of the land, the other ten spies described the land as dangerous and inhabited by giants. The Israelites, overcome by fear and doubt, rebelled against Moses and Aaron, longing to return to Egypt. God’s anger burned against their unbelief, and as a result, that generation, except Caleb and Joshua, didn’t enter the Promised Land. Despite Caleb and Joshua’s attempts to reassure them of God’s power, the people refused to believe. Here’s what I want you to notice concerning what the Lord said about the report of these other 10 spies: “And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel…” (Numbers 13:32). It wasn’t Joshua or Moses who labelled their report as “evil”—it was the Lord Himself, because it contradicted His Word. What was the evil report? God had declared that the Israelites would conquer the giants and take possession of the land flowing with milk and honey. But the ten spies said, “Even if it’s true that the land flows with milk and honey, we can’t take it.” They disregarded God’s assurance of victory and accused Moses of leading them into trouble. In Numbers 13:32-33, they said, “…The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” Learn from this. No evil report should come from you. Be like Joshua and Caleb. Our opening verse says we have the same spirit of faith; we believe and therefore speak in agreement with God’s Word. What has the Word said about your health or prosperity? What has God said about your life and future? Affirm the same things in agreement with Him. Speak faith-filled words only, regardless of what your senses perceive. Hold fast to your confessions of faith, knowing that God’s Word is true and always prevails. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the spirit of faith at work in me. I believe your Word, and I speak in agreement with it. I walk in health, prosperity and victory; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Amen. El-Rufai’s Defection to SDP a Political Misstep – APC Woman Leader Declares

APC Woman Leader Rejects El-Rufai’s SDP Move, Calls It a Wrong Political Strategy Hajiya Maryam Suleiman, the Kaduna State Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has openly criticized former Governor Nasir El-Rufai over his defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP). She described his political switch as a miscalculated move that holds no strategic advantage. Once a devoted supporter of El-Rufai, Suleiman has now reaffirmed her commitment to the APC and Governor Uba Sani’s leadership. She admitted to previously opposing the governor due to misinformation and has since publicly apologized for her past criticisms. “Governor Uba Sani is a leader with compassion and a vision for true development, unlike El-Rufai, whose tenure saw market demolitions and mass teacher dismissals that affected thousands of lives,” she stated. A Shift in Kaduna’s Political Landscape Suleiman has also rebranded her political identity, transitioning from “Maryam Mai Rusau” (a known El-Rufai loyalist) to “Maryam Mai Ginau”, a name symbolizing her commitment to progress and Governor Uba Sani’s developmental agenda. Her defection from El-Rufai’s camp signals a significant political realignment in Kaduna State, as the APC strengthens its influence while SDP struggles to gain traction. Senator Wamakko Facilitates Freedom for 60 Sokoto Inmates Through Fine Payment

Wamakko Secures Release of 60 Sokoto Prison Inmates, Offers Financial Support In a significant humanitarian gesture, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, representing the Sokoto-North Senatorial District, has facilitated the release of 60 inmates from various correctional centers in Sokoto State. The lawmaker covered the fines of these individuals, enabling them to regain their freedom and reintegrate into society. The released individuals had been convicted of minor offenses, including theft and public disturbances. In addition to securing their release, each freed inmate received ₦10,000 to support their journey home and transition back into their communities. Legal Experts Commend Wamakko’s Initiative During the official release event on Wednesday, Sokoto State’s Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Nasiru Binji, praised the senator’s intervention, describing it as a commendable effort toward decongesting overcrowded prisons. “This initiative is highly praiseworthy, especially given the overpopulation in our correctional facilities,” Binji remarked. He was represented at the event by Barrister Umar Aliyu, who further stressed the importance of such interventions, particularly considering the recent meningitis outbreak in some parts of the state. “This support couldn’t have come at a better time. With the current health concerns in our prisons, actions like these are invaluable. We urge other well-meaning Nigerians to follow suit,” he added. NBA Advocates Alternative Sentencing for Minor Offenses Also present at the event was Barrister Rashidat Muhammad, Chairperson of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Sokoto Chapter. She emphasized that the initiative aligns with the NBA’s advocacy for alternative sentencing, which promotes community service over imprisonment for lesser offenses. “Our association has been pushing for non-custodial sentences, and this gesture is a major milestone toward achieving that goal,” Muhammad stated. She further highlighted the timing of the release, which coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, allowing the freed inmates to celebrate Sallah with their families. “Releasing these individuals at this time is not just about freedom; it’s about reuniting families and offering them a second chance,” she concluded. Addressing Prison Overcrowding in Nigeria Prison congestion remains a major challenge in Nigeria, with many inmates held for non-violent crimes due to their inability to pay fines. Human rights organizations and legal experts have continuously advocated for reforms, including alternative sentencing and financial assistance programs like this one. For further insights into Nigeria’s prison reform initiatives, visit Amnesty International’s report on prison conditions. This intervention by Senator Wamakko not only provides immediate relief to the affected inmates but also highlights the urgent need for legal reforms to ensure that minor offenders are not subjected to prolonged detention due to financial constraints. Imo Police Reinforces Ban on Tinted Vehicles, Covered Plates & Unauthorized Sirens The Imo State Police Command has intensified enforcement against the use of tinted vehicles, covered number plates, and unauthorized sirens within Owerri and its surrounding areas. This move aims to enhance security and curb criminal activities across the state. Rhapsody of Realities March 26th 2025, THE FOUNDATION OF TRUE CHRISTIANITY

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16 NIV). Just because certain people have chosen a particular kind of Christianity that’s not based on the Scriptures and have decided that it represents Christianity, doesn’t mean that what they are practicing is Christianity at all. True Christianity is based on the Bible—the Word of God. Our opening scripture says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). Every Christian believes, accepts, confesses, endorses and proclaims that the Bible is absolutely true and it’s the final arbiter concerning everything in life. Otherwise, such a person isn’t a Christian. Also, the Christian accepts that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that means He’s God in the flesh: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). Plus that, the Christian acknowledges that Jesus died as our Saviour: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). The Christian confesses that Jesus was raised from the dead and professes that He is alive today: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9). Revelation 1:18, “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” So it makes no difference for how long you’ve professed to be a Christian or the title by which you’re addressed; if you don’t accept, believe, and confess these truths, you’re not a Christian according to the Bible. This is the beginning of the definition of who a Christian is. Why is this so important? It’s because the transcendent life in Christ that the Bible talks about is only available to those who believe. Believing involves two essential components: accepting the truthfulness of something and confessing it, while acting accordingly. Without these, belief is incomplete. Praise God. PRAYERDear Father, I thank you for the light of your Word that defines and directs my life. I believe, accept, confess, and proclaim the absolute truth of the Scriptures. I boldly affirm that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, died as my Saviour, was raised from the dead, and now, lives in my heart by His Spirit. I live by these truths, walking in the full blessings of your Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY|| Romans 10:8-10But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. || || 1 John 4:1-3Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. || || 2 Timothy 3:16All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: || READ ALSO: DAILY AFFIRMATIONS: I live my days in health and prosperity. The “Revenge Bedtime Procrastination” Epidemic: How Screen Addiction Is Destroying Sleep

Why You Can’t Stop Scrolling Even When You Know You Should Be Sleeping You know the feeling—you’re exhausted, but instead of going to bed, you pick up your phone for “just five minutes.” Suddenly, it’s 2 AM, and you’ve been sucked into a black hole of TikTok videos, Instagram reels, or doomscrolling through Twitter. Welcome to the world of Revenge Bedtime Procrastination, where we willingly trade sleep for extra screen time, despite knowing it’s ruining our health. What Is Revenge Bedtime Procrastination? The term originated from China’s phrase bàofùxìng áoyè, which means “retaliatory staying up late.” It describes a self-sabotaging habit where people, especially those with busy lives, delay sleep to reclaim personal time lost to work or responsibilities. Think about it: After a long day of answering emails, dealing with deadlines, and handling personal obligations, nighttime feels like the only time we have to disconnect from demands and do something enjoyable. But instead of truly unwinding, we turn to our phones, hoping for a little relaxation—only to end up wired, overstimulated, and sleep-deprived. Why Do We Do It? 1. Digital Addiction and Dopamine Loops Social media and entertainment apps are designed to be addictive. Every swipe, like, and notification triggers a dopamine hit, reinforcing the habit. This creates an endless loop where we crave more stimulation, even when we’re exhausted. 2. The Illusion of “Me Time” When life feels overwhelming, binge-scrolling feels like a small act of rebellion. We tell ourselves we deserve this time after a long day, even though we know we’ll pay for it the next morning. 3. Blue Light Disrupting Sleep Cycles The artificial light from screens suppresses melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep. Even if you’re tired, your brain remains in a state of alertness, making it harder to wind down. 4. FOMO and the Infinite Scroll Fear of missing out (FOMO) is real. Whether it’s catching up on the latest trends, watching viral videos, or doomscrolling the news, the internet never sleeps—and that makes it harder for us to log off. The Consequences of Sleep Deprivation Chronic sleep deprivation isn’t just about feeling groggy. Here’s what happens when we constantly sacrifice sleep: How to Break the Cycle and Reclaim Your Sleep Here’s how to take control of your nighttime routine and kick the revenge bedtime procrastination habit: 1. Set a Non-Negotiable Sleep Time Treat sleep like an important meeting. Schedule it and stick to it. Use an alarm not just to wake up but also to remind yourself when it’s time to start winding down. 2. Create a Tech-Free Wind-Down Routine An hour before bed, swap your phone for a book, meditation, or journaling. Your brain needs time to disconnect from digital noise. 3. Use Night Mode and Blue Light Filters If you must use screens, turn on night mode or use blue light-blocking glasses to minimize the damage. 4. Set App Limits and Disable Autoplay Social media apps are engineered to keep you hooked. Use built-in screen time controls or apps like Forest to limit usage. 5. Make Sleep Feel Rewarding Upgrade your sleep experience: soft bedding, blackout curtains, white noise machines—whatever makes sleep feel luxurious. The goal is to make rest feel more rewarding than scrolling. Final Thoughts Revenge bedtime procrastination might feel like a harmless habit, but over time, it wreaks havoc on our mental health, productivity, and overall well-being. It’s time to take back control and give our bodies what they actually need—real rest. So tonight, instead of scrolling until your eyes burn, put your phone down and reclaim your sleep. Your future self will thank you. READ ALSO: Follow the LMSINT MEDIA channel on WhatsApp: Join Our WhatsApp Group Hear: Chat on WhatsApp Join our Telegram Channel
