Do you see why your mentality should be one of abundance? You’re the King’s kid, and everything that belongs to Him belongs to you. Being born again, the Spirit confirms that you’re a child of God: “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God” (Romans 8:16). Romans 8:17 says, “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ….” And because you’re a child of God, you’re a joint heir with Christ—a partaker of the divine nature. All the rights Jesus has, you have as well. Consider a more relatable analogy of a joint bank account. In a joint account, everything in that account belongs to both parties equally. Neither of them can access anything without the other person’s involvement. This illustrates what it means to be joint-heirs with Christ. Everything that belongs to Christ also belongs to you in full. The Bible says, “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1).
