Did you know that when you speak in tongues, you speak mysteries? These mysteries could be about your health, job, family, or even future decisions. However, these mysteries are not understood by the human mind. This is why the gift of interpretation of tongues is necessary. With the gift of interpretation, you can understand these mysteries and know exactly what you’re saying. Regrettably, many Christians haven’t fully grasped the power or essence of speaking in tongues and as a result, they see no need for interpretation of these mysteries. If you want to know something about your health, for instance, you can speak in tongues. When you do, you’re speaking mysteries, and when you interpret those tongues, you will understand what the Spirit is revealing to you. We’re not supposed to be in the dark about anything in life. We speak mysteries, and the Holy Spirit helps us to interpret them. 1 Corinthians 2:6-11 says, “Howbeit we speak…the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory…For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.” Why is this significant? It’s because when you speak in tongues with interpretation, it equals prophecy. So, we’re either bringing forth the wisdom of God in mysteries through prophetic revelation, or it’s coming to us in tongues that we can interpret.
