Tolu Arokodare has expressed excitement after scoring his debut goal for the Nigerian national team, according to a report from LMSINT MEDIA.
The forward netted Nigeria’s only goal in their 1-1 stalemate with Russia at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Friday evening.
The KRC Genk attacker found the back of the net in the 71st minute, taking full advantage of a costly error by Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov to draw the Super Eagles level.
Following the match, the 24-year-old celebrated the achievement via social media.
“First international goal, the journey has only just started. We thank God,” Arokodare shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
So far, Arokodare has earned five caps under the management of Éric Chelle.
