APC’s Attacks on Peter Obi Reveal Tinubu’s Fear of 2027 Defeat – MASSOB

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for its unprovoked media assaults on Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate. MASSOB claims these attacks highlight President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s anxiety over the potential of losing the 2027 presidential election to Obi.

This reaction comes following APC’s spokesperson, Felix Morka’s, harsh criticism of Obi’s New Year message. MASSOB condemned Morka’s comments, stating that threatening Obi’s life, along with his family and close associates, reveals APC’s growing fear of losing power in 2027 under Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement released by MASSOB’s National Director of Information, Comrade Edeson Samuel, the group emphasized that no amount of intimidation would deter Nigerians from rejecting APC in the next election.

The statement, as shared with Vanguard, read:
“Threatening Peter Obi and his family will never halt the strong determination of Nigerians to remove the most oppressive government in Nigeria’s history since independence.”

MASSOB, known for its peaceful approach to Biafra advocacy, stated it would no longer remain passive while certain political elements attempt to intimidate non-corrupt political figures. The group reaffirmed its non-violent stance while condemning any attempts to tarnish Obi’s reputation.

Although MASSOB, under the leadership of Comrade Uchenna Madu, does not recognize Nigeria’s geopolitical structure, the group vowed not to allow politically motivated threats and defamation against Peter Obi, despite his non-involvement in the Biafra movement.
