The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally declared that the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party.
This announcement was made publicly by the National Chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, who also hails from Plateau State. The disclosure took place during the party’s 14th National Caucus meeting, which was held at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.
According to the statement delivered at the meeting, the APC leadership presented Governor Mutfwang’s defection as a significant political development for the party. The announcement was made in the presence of key party stakeholders and national figures attending the caucus gathering.
The declaration by the APC marks a notable moment within Nigeria’s political space, particularly in Plateau State, where party affiliations and alignments remain closely observed. The statement did not include additional details beyond the confirmation of the governor’s movement from the PDP to the APC, as presented during the caucus session.
