The Anambra State Police Command has successfully apprehended a suspect linked to a recent kidnapping and armed robbery case. The suspect, identified as Nwokpoku Emmanuel, aged 34, is under investigation for his alleged involvement in the abduction of a victim, for which a ransom of ₦15 million was demanded.

Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed that Emmanuel was arrested after the victim’s red Mercedes Benz GLE 450, taken during the kidnapping, was tracked and recovered at MCC Junction in Onitsha. Ikenga stated, “The Anambra State Police Command has arrested one Nwokpoku Emmanuel, a 34-year-old from Ebonyi State residing in Oduke-Obosi, for alleged armed robbery and kidnapping. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang, including their leader known as ‘Ebuka.’”

The victim was reportedly abducted in a neighboring state and later released after the ransom payment. However, the suspects fled with the victim’s vehicle, which was recovered through strategic police tracking.
