Aliko Dangote Accuses Amosun of Demolishing His Cement Factory Twice in Ogun

Billionaire industrialist and President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has alleged that his cement factory in Ogun State was demolished twice under the administration of former Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Dangote made this revelation during a meeting with the current Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Monday, March 17, 2025. The discussion centered on expanding investment opportunities in key sectors, including manufacturing, oil and gas, and energy, according to a statement released by the Ogun State Government.

In a viral video circulating on social media, Dangote recounted how his cement factory in Itori was twice demolished while under construction during Amosun’s tenure. He expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun for fostering an environment that encouraged his return to the state.

Dangote stated, “I want it on record that the factory we are visiting now in Itori is here today because of His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun. The factory was demolished twice. We started building, and Amosun’s administration pulled it down. We started again, and it was demolished a second time, including the fencing, so we left. But today, we are back because of the governor’s support. When we visit the site, you’ll be very surprised at the progress.”

The business mogul’s claim has sparked reactions across various platforms, as stakeholders weigh in on the implications for investment and industrial development in Ogun State.
