Newcastle icon Alan Shearer has urged striker Alexander Isak to part ways with his agent immediately, branding the current transfer negotiation as “an absolute mess.” Shearer pointed the blame squarely at the agent, accusing him of mishandling the situation and delivering poor counsel.
In a candid Betfair interview, Shearer remarked: “What a f*ing mess** his agent has made of this, honestly. If I were Isak, I’d get his agent into a room and sack him on the spot, because he was supposed to have advised him when he signed that six-year deal—with no exit clause. It’s ridiculous.” He added that accepting verbal promises in football is “nonsensical,” emphasizing that everything should be contractually clear.
The Newcastle legend further warned that if Isak remains at the club beyond the transfer window without resolution, reconciliation would be extremely difficult. However, he did leave a small door open: an apology and reintegration could still offer a path back before time runs out.
