Suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, has made a shocking allegation that Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello conspired to assassinate her.

The embattled senator made these claims while addressing her supporters during a grand homecoming event on Tuesday, where she received an overwhelming welcome.

Alleged Assassination Plot and Police Notification

Akpoti-Uduaghan revealed that while the assassination plot was not publicly disclosed earlier, the Nigeria Police Force has been formally notified about it.

She further alleged that Akpabio initiated her recall process after allegedly promising financial incentives to former Governor Yahaya Bello.

Details of the Alleged Conspiracy

Providing further insight, she stated:

“On March 13 at exactly 10:00 PM, two days before that, Akpabio called Governor Usman Ododo, instructing him to begin my recall process. However, Ododo declined, citing that the people overwhelmingly support me.”

According to Akpoti-Uduaghan, Akpabio was dissatisfied with Ododo’s response and decided to reach out to Yahaya Bello.

She continued:

“I was informed of everything that transpired. Their plan had two parts—first, to initiate my recall and provide funds for the process; and second, to ensure my assassination.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan further alleged that Akpabio specifically instructed Bello to ensure that her killing did not happen in Abuja but rather in Kogi State, to make it appear as if it was orchestrated by the local populace.

Police Intervention and Public Reaction

Following these grave allegations, Akpoti-Uduaghan confirmed that she had officially written to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to investigate the matter thoroughly.

The allegations have sparked widespread concern among Nigerians, with many calling for a full-fledged investigation to ascertain the truth.

What Happens Next?

As of now, there has been no official response from Akpabio or Yahaya Bello regarding these allegations. The public awaits further updates as the case unfolds.
