ADC Calls on Saraki, Jonathan to Join Party as Part of National Repositioning Efforts

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially inaugurated its North-East Zonal Congress Committee, signaling a strong push for party growth, internal democracy, and national revival. During the ceremony, the party extended an invitation to notable Nigerian political figures, including former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki and former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, to join its ranks.

The event, organized by the ADC National Leadership, took place in Gombe State on January 11, 2026, under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad S. Muhammad. In a statement released following the inauguration, the ADC highlighted the strategic importance of strengthening its regional structures to ensure transparent and credible congresses throughout the North-East zone.

According to a communique signed by ADC National Chairman Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe, the inauguration was a landmark step in reinforcing party structures and consolidating leadership at the zonal level.

Key officials were formally confirmed to oversee the processes of the zonal congress. Engr. Mrs. Patience Alex was appointed as Chairperson of the North-East Zonal Congress Committee, while Mr. Abayomi Adekunle was inaugurated as Chairman of the Zonal Appeal Committee, ensuring a robust mechanism for governance and appeals within the zone.

The communique also underscored the party’s ambition to attract experienced and patriotic national leaders who can contribute to Nigeria’s resurgence.

“The authentic National Leadership of the ADC passionately appeals to and invites distinguished personalities to join the party in its mission to rebuild and reposition Nigeria,” stated Gombe.

Chairman Gombe added:
