Adamawa Government Grants Automatic Employment To 60 Graduate Engineers After Training In India

The Adamawa State Government has made a significant move to secure the future of 60 young graduate engineers by offering them automatic employment. These graduates were previously sponsored by the state government to undergo specialized engineering training in India.

The employment offer comes after they complete the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program. The announcement was made by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in Yola, during a visit from the graduates to express their gratitude for the scholarship that enabled them to study abroad.

Dr. Umar Umar Garba Pella, the State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, spoke to the press about the initiative. He reminded the public that the scholarship program, launched in 2020, was aimed at supporting Adamawa indigenes by providing them with a comprehensive five-year engineering education abroad. Governor Fintiri, recognizing the graduates’ exceptional performance, assured that his administration would continue to sustain the program, enabling more young individuals from Adamawa to benefit in the future.

In addition to this, the state government is already planning to send another group of students abroad, with a new scholarship program targeting studies in China. This initiative demonstrates the commitment of Adamawa’s leadership to investing in the education and future of its youth.

Tahir Iju Sama’ila, one of the graduates, expressed his appreciation on behalf of his colleagues. He commended Governor Fintiri and the state government for their support, emphasizing that while many other states have neglected their students abroad, Adamawa has remained dedicated to ensuring the success and well-being of its youth.

This initiative further strengthens Adamawa’s commitment to empowering its youth and providing long-term job security, reinforcing the state’s position as a leader in educational development and employment opportunities.
