In response to recent violence, the Adamawa State Police Command has intensified security operations in Kwapre, a village located in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

According to a statement made available to DAILY POST on Sunday evening, the police deployed extra personnel to the region following a brutal attack that occurred on Saturday, April 26, 2025. The incident, allegedly carried out by suspected Boko Haram insurgents, tragically claimed the lives of ten local vigilantes.

While the official statement did not confirm the number of casualties, the Adamawa Police Command clarified that the deployment was a direct response to an ambush targeting hunters and members of the civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) in Kwapre, a community close to the Borno State border.

Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, who signed the release, confirmed that Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, instructed the deployed officers to exercise high levels of professionalism, vigilance, and swift action to curb violence and maintain order in the area.

Nguroje emphasized the Commissioner’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing, highlighting the resolve of security forces to disrupt criminal activities and reinforce safety across border communities.

The Adamawa Police Command also appealed to residents to collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies by offering timely and credible information to help prevent crimes and boost community safety.
