2Baba Addresses Speculations, Defends Natasha Osawaru
Renowned Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has openly defended Honourable Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker from Edo State, against allegations linking her to his ongoing marital challenges. The singer, while appreciating Osawaru, expressed admiration for her, emphasizing that she had no part in the problems between him and his wife, Annie Idibia.
The controversy gained traction after 2Baba was seen at the Edo State Assembly earlier this week, followed by another sighting of him alongside Osawaru at a club in Lagos. This fueled speculation about the nature of their relationship, prompting the singer to address the matter.
2Baba’s Response to Online Speculations
In a video shared on his Instagram handle on Wednesday morning, 2Baba dismissed the rumors surrounding his connection with Osawaru. He criticized the spread of false narratives, urging people to avoid making baseless assumptions.
“So, allegedly, I’ve been seeing so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives, false talk, and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff. And I posted it, yes—any person wey get brain go understand. But for all the people who have been saying different stuff that don’t have an absolute clue about what’s going on, I hail you people. Your life is perfect, very right.”
The singer firmly stated that Hon. Natasha Osawaru had no involvement in his marriage troubles, condemning the unwarranted criticism she faced from the public.
“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home breaker. She is a young, brilliant, and amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage.”
Expressing Admiration for Natasha Osawaru
Beyond his defense of the lawmaker, 2Baba openly expressed admiration for her, stating:
“Yes, I love her. She is amazing, she is cool, and I want to marry her.”
While it remains unclear whether the singer was serious or joking about his statement, his words have sparked further discussions among fans and the media.
Call for Caution Against False Accusations
2Baba wrapped up his statement by urging authorities to address how people recklessly spread baseless allegations online. He emphasized the need for responsibility when discussing people’s personal lives, especially when facts are not verified.
