Makinde: “It Will Be Nigerians vs APC in 2027”
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has boldly declared that the upcoming 2027 Nigerian presidential election will not be a typical contest between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC). Instead, he insists it will be “Nigerians versus the APC”, highlighting a significant shift in the political climate.
Makinde shared these views during a live interview on Politics Today, aired by Channels Television.
“The 2027 election won’t be PDP versus APC; it would be Nigerians versus APC. Mark my word on that,” he stated firmly.

Governor Makinde did not hold back in his criticism of the current administration under President Bola Tinubu. He pointed to Nigeria’s worsening economy and escalating insecurity as clear signs of failure by the APC-led government.

“The people will speak through the ballot. The hardships they are facing can’t be ignored,” Makinde emphasized.
