The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has formally and unanimously declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. The endorsement came on Friday during a crucial stakeholders’ meeting held in Jos, the state capital.

The meeting, which brought together influential party figures, reaffirmed the commitment of Plateau APC members to consolidate on the achievements of the current administration at both state and federal levels. Party officials expressed confidence that President Tinubu remains the best choice to continue steering Nigeria towards sustainable growth and development.

According to the APC leadership in Plateau, Tinubu’s policies have laid a strong foundation for national stability and economic progress. They emphasized that the President’s ongoing reforms in key sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, and education have positively impacted the country and must not be interrupted.

During the meeting, the Plateau APC also made it clear that the party would resist any attempt by Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join their ranks. The party leadership described such a move as unacceptable, insisting that it would undermine the credibility and unity of the APC in the state.

The resolution to reject Mutfwang’s defection was unanimously supported by all party stakeholders present, including the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and the former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, who is also regarded as one of the party’s leading figures in the region.

In his remarks, Professor Yilwatda emphasized the need for unity and discipline within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. He urged all members to remain committed to the party’s vision and work collectively towards ensuring victory for President Tinubu and all APC candidates.

Senator Lalong, in his address, commended the leadership of the party in Plateau for their loyalty and consistency. He further encouraged members to intensify their grassroots mobilization and strengthen internal democracy, noting that only a united front can guarantee electoral success.

The meeting concluded with a strong message of solidarity and renewed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership. The APC stakeholders in Plateau State reaffirmed their readiness to mobilize massive support for the President’s 2027 campaign, expressing optimism that his administration will continue to deliver meaningful governance and national transformation.

This endorsement further cements Tinubu’s growing influence within the ruling party as several state chapters have begun aligning themselves ahead of the next election cycle. The Plateau APC’s firm stance against Governor Mutfwang’s defection also reflects the party’s determination to maintain ideological integrity and cohesion as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
