Kenneth Omeruo has commended the resilience of the Super Eagles despite their 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The match, held in Uyo on Tuesday, saw Nigeria take the lead in the 74th minute through a well-placed strike from Victor Osimhen. However, Zimbabwe’s substitute, Chawanda Chirewa, found the equalizer late in the game, denying the Super Eagles a crucial victory.
Reacting to the outcome, Omeruo shared his thoughts on X, expressing optimism: “Well done boys… we are almost there… unlucky with the late goal.. #Believe.”
With this result, Nigeria remains fourth in Group C, accumulating seven points from six matches. The team will now shift focus to their next crucial encounter against Rwanda’s Amavubi when the qualifiers resume in September.
