JAMB Suspends Two CBT Centres Over Security Breaches in 2025 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has placed a 14-day suspension on two Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for violating security protocols during the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration.

The affected centres are:

  • Federal College of Education (Technical) Potiskum CBT Centre 2, Yobe State
  • CBT Centre, Otukpo, Benue State

The suspension, which takes effect from Tuesday, February 4, 2025, was announced in a statement by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.

Reason for the Suspension

According to JAMB, the decision to suspend the centres follows a major procedural violation that compromised the board’s security measures. These measures are in place to prevent irregularities and ensure that all data submitted during registration remains verifiable and secure.

JAMB emphasized that all candidates must manually enter their details before uploading them to the registration portal. The completed template must also be uploaded as proof of the candidate’s registration details.

However, some centres failed to comply with this guideline by submitting blank registration templates. This practice, according to JAMB, was an attempt to increase candidate submissions dishonestly.

Warning to Other CBT Centres

JAMB has issued a stern warning to all CBT centres, stressing that any future occurrences of uploading blank registration templates will result in outright cancellation of the centre’s accreditation. Such centres will be permanently barred from participating in JAMB-related activities.

Key Dates for 2025 UTME Registration

  • Registration Start Date: Monday, February 3, 2025
  • Registration End Date: Saturday, March 8, 2025

JAMB urges all CBT centres to strictly adhere to registration guidelines, ensuring that all candidate details are clearly and accurately recorded before submission.

Conclusion

The suspension of these two centres serves as a cautionary measure to maintain the credibility of the 2025 UTME registration process. As JAMB continues to enforce strict compliance, all candidates and CBT centres are advised to follow the approved procedures to avoid disruptions.
