Ace Gas and FLNG Ltd, a subsidiary of the renowned Ace Energy Group, has taken a monumental step forward in its energy mission. The company has officially commenced the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase for its groundbreaking 3MTPA Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) and 250MW Power Barge project. This development is set to redefine Nigeria’s energy sector and contribute significantly to the nation’s transition toward a gas-centric economy.
Strategic Partnership and FEED Signing Ceremony
The FEED signing ceremony was hosted at Wison’s headquarters in Shanghai, China, and attended by Ace Energy Group Directors Mr. Collins Oguike and Mr. Oluwafisayo Ishola, alongside Wison’s leadership, led by Mr. Alex Yuan. This collaboration marks a critical milestone in leveraging Nigeria’s vast gas resources to enhance domestic energy security and drive sustainable economic growth.
The Ace Energy team also toured Wison’s advanced shipyards, gaining firsthand insights into the company’s execution capabilities.
Project Highlights and Economic Impact
The ambitious project integrates a state-of-the-art gas gathering network, including compression stations and delivery pipelines. This network will transport gas from multiple assets within a 60KM radius to the FLNG facility. The project aligns with the Federal Government’s gas-focused policies, along with the directives of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
Key benefits include:
- Market Access: Monetizing over 500 Million Standard Cubic Feet Per Day (MSCFd) of gas, including flared gas and Non-Associated Gas (NAG).
- Methane Abatement: Supporting Nigeria’s climate commitments with sustainable solutions.
- Economic Growth: Generating significant revenues for stakeholders and boosting Nigeria’s share in the global gas market.
Production and Exports
The Escravos-based FLNG facility will produce:
- 3 MTPA of LNG for global markets.
- 200,000 MT per year of LPG for domestic and regional use.
- 25,000 barrels per day (bpd) of condensates and 75,000 MT per year of propane for export.
The 230MW Power Barge will support operations with surplus electricity channeled to the local grid, enhancing energy availability for industrial hubs.
Job Creation and Socio-Economic Benefits
The project is expected to create over 1,000 direct jobs and approximately 5,000 indirect roles, fostering local talent development, workforce training, and technology transfer. These efforts will contribute to Nigeria’s long-term socio-economic growth.

Next Steps
Following the successful Pre-FEED phase earlier this year, the FEED stage will streamline engineering, design, and planning processes, setting the foundation for full-scale execution. The project will unlock over 5TCF of gas reserves within a 30-year period, with an estimated daily output of 500MMSCFd.
