Peller, a 19-Year-Old TikTok Influencer, Reveals He Earns N20 Million Weekly
The creator economy continues to expand in Africa, with young influencers making significant earnings from digital platforms. Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, a 19-year-old Nigerian TikTok content creator, has disclosed that he generates between N15 million to N20 million per week through live streaming.
During an interview on Channels TV Rubbin’ Minds, hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Peller shared insights into how he monetizes his TikTok live sessions and the strategies that helped him increase his earnings.
How Peller Earns Millions from TikTok Live Sessions
Peller explained that his primary source of income on TikTok comes from live streaming, where viewers send virtual gifts that are later converted into real money. He noted that while TikTok takes a percentage of earnings, creators still receive a significant share.
“If I am active on TikTok, in a week, I can make up to N20 million or N15 million. But TikTok takes a percentage. For instance, if I make $2,000, I might be able to withdraw around $1,500,” Peller said.
He further revealed that his shift in content strategy boosted his revenue. Instead of being solely money-focused, he adopted a conversational approach, which unexpectedly led to higher earnings.
“I don’t go on TikTok to make money. I used to be money-focused before, but I started to change how I talk. Surprisingly, I began making more money this way than when I used to talk normally,” he added.
The Power of Live Streaming in Digital Monetization
Discussing his earnings, Peller highlighted that his live sessions are highly lucrative. He mentioned that in just 30 minutes, he can make up to $3,000 from streaming. However, he limits his live appearances to avoid oversaturation.
“I don’t do live sessions every day because you don’t want people to see your face too much. I only go live three times a week. There was a time I made $10,000 in one session, which surprised me because I was used to seeing around $7,000 or $8,000,” Peller disclosed.
His success underscores the potential of digital content creation as a full-time profession, especially for young Africans leveraging platforms like TikTok to engage audiences and monetize their creativity.
The Growing Creator Economy in Africa
Peller’s rise to fame is part of a broader digital revolution sweeping across Africa. The African Creator Economy was valued at $3.08 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach $17.84 billion by 2030, growing at an annual rate of 28.5%.
