Nigeria Police Achievements in 2024: Over 30,000 Arrests, Nearly 2,000 Firearms Recovered

According to the Force, a total of 30,313 suspects were arrested for various criminal activities, while 1,984 firearms and 23,250 rounds of ammunition were successfully recovered. Additionally, 1,581 kidnapped victims were rescued across the country. This update was shared by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement issued during a strategic meeting held at the Goodluck Ebele Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja. The meeting was chaired by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, who highlighted the Force’s dedication to adopting innovative technologies and strategic operations as it prepares for 2025. The IGP encouraged senior police officers to integrate modern tools and advanced practices into their operations to improve the efficiency of crime prevention and investigation. As the festive season approaches, IGP Egbetokun reassured Nigerians of the Force’s commitment to maintaining a peaceful and secure environment. He emphasized the importance of strengthening public partnerships and fostering accountability within the Force to build trust and ensure safety nationwide.
