Abuja, Nigeria – The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has reaffirmed the media’s central role in fostering democratic values and promoting national development in Nigeria.

Speaking during the sixth edition of the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing Series, where the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, was featured, Idris emphasized that media practitioners are vital allies in building a stronger, more transparent nation.

The purpose of the meeting was to finalize arrangements for launching a groundbreaking Media and Information Literacy Institute in Abuja, a first-of-its-kind center aimed at enhancing journalism and media education in Nigeria.
